Nepal participates SATTE 2014
Nepal Tourism Board successfully led Nepal’s participation at SATTE 2014 in New Delhi along with 9 prominent Tour companies of Nepal from 29th to 31st Jan 2014. SATTE, South Asia’s leading travel & tourism event has evolved into an exceptional platform for networking and building long term business ties. Over 7500 trade visitors participated in SATTE 2014 to interact with approx. 600 exhibitors from over 40 countries. SATTE being purely B 2 B event, the B2B session of the program was dedicated to trade exchange where Nepalese Tour Operators and visiting Travel Trade had one-to-one interaction and business dealings. The travel trade from all over the world had extensive deliberation with the Nepalese tour operators, which helped towards enhancing the existing business, forging new alliances.
The private sector participants from Nepal had prefixed business appointments with many of the visiting Indian Tour operators, in order to tap the summer holiday season for Indians. Nepal Tourism Board officials, Mrs Ujjwala Dali, Senior Manager – India market as well as Mr. Pradeep Poudyal – Assistant Manager –in- charge Corporate Services interacted with the visiting buyers, especially with the walk in trade to understand the changing trends in India market and the preferences of Indian travelers. Mrs Dali also updated the buyers regarding new upcoming soft adventure products like Zip drive as well as about the new emerging destinations in Eastern Nepal like Ilam, Basantpur. Many Buyers, besides standard destinations like Kathmandu and Pokhara showed interest particularly in trekking, wildlife and adventure activities of Nepal.
The 09 companies, which participated in SATTE 2014 were Hotel Annapurna & Fishtail Lodge, Buddha Air, Ojha Holidays Tours and Travels, Fishtail Tours & Travels, Shangrila Hotel & Resorts, Abhiwadan Holidays, Nepal Holiday Makers Tours & Travels, Visit Nepal- Tibet Treks & Expedition, Icefall adventures.
